Workshops

Gender Inclusion:

At EC this year, we will be having the first Gender Inclusion Workshop! It will take place in the mornings of July 9th-11th, co-located with EC at King’s College, London. More information is available on our website (https://sites.google.com/view/ecgiw23), as well as an interest form (https://forms.gle/etBw5urvdLyXf1cY9). if you would like to be contacted with updates to our schedule.

The guiding purpose of this workshop is to create a space for the support and promotion of members of the EC community who belong to underrepresented genders: women, transgender people of any gender, non-binary and gender non-conforming people, and all people with historically marginalized or underrepresented genders in CS. This workshop is also open to allies of any gender.

In service of its purpose, this workshop has three main goals:

  1. To highlight research from members of underrepresented gender identities
  2. To provide participants with networking opportunities, and
  3. To facilitate open discussion about the diverse and intersectional experiences of marginalized gender groups in CS, and actions that can be taken to make our communities more inclusive to people of all gender identities.
